our Central Market store…the 1934
birthplace of Charlesworth Nuts…for
38 years from 1972 to 2010.
Nadene trained me at the Market as a
16-year-old, and later one of my sons
Rhys and many other “youngsters”
who have gone on to be major players
in our company. The knowledge,
standards and work ethic that Nadene
taught (or beat into) all of us, has been
incredibly influential. But it’s more
than just Nadene’s direct impact it’s
the impact of so many in her family.

As many of you know Charlesworth
Nuts is a 4th generation, familyowned, South Aussie business and
very proud of it. For us, it’s all about
family.
Nadene’s daughter Jenny “officially”
started in 1986 at our Tea Tree Plaza
store and has worked there ever since,
the last 15 as our Manager. Jenny has
now clocked up 39 years as part of the
Charlesworth Nuts family, surpassing
even her Mum, and is very much a
Charlesworth Nuts legend herself.
For that reason, I often use our
Christmas catalogue to update you
about our family and ask you about
yours. In a nutshell (sorry about that)
our family is going great. For once
there have been no additions, with our
grandkids…our 5th generation…still
totalling 5 gorgeous little girls…and
one cheeky little boy…the youngest.
And if that family contribution
isn’t enough, there have been 4
of Nadene’s grandkids (3 of them
Jenny’s kids) who have been part of
our Team as well…Reece, Amy, Sam,
and Matt. In total Nadene’s family have
(so far) been part of the Charlesworth
Nuts family for about 107 years. That’s
phenomenal.
But it’s not just about the Charlesworth
Family, we have some great stories
within our Charlesworth Nuts families
as well. Families whose stories span 2
and sometimes even 3 generations
working at Charlesworth Nuts. I’d like
to touch on that this year and tell you
about 2 famous Charlesworth Nuts
families in particular.
Believe it or not, Nadene has just
turned 89 (but looks 20 years
younger) and still comes to Jenny’s
store every Monday to help “dry the
dishes” as part of our weekly cleaning
procedures and to make sure we’re
still doing it right. Nadene, you truly
are a Charlesworth Nuts Legend.
G’day Folks…
Over our 91 years there have
been a few people who qualify as
“Charlesworth Nuts legends” but the
undisputed greatest legend of all is
Nadene Morrow. Nadene worked in
Manager, only retiring a couple of
months ago.
Over the years in addition to Teresa
we were blessed to have her hubby
Nick…daughters Mel, Angie and
Simone…grandkids Angelique and
Jordan…and even her son-in-law
Stef…as part of our Team, each of
them for many years.
Teresa and her family have been so
important to the quality and growth
of our much-loved chocolate range
over the last 30 years and the legacy
she leaves to our current amazing
Team will ensure your Charlesworth
chocolate addiction will forever be
satisfied.
In addition to these 2 amazing
families, there are dozens of other
2 & 3 generation families within our
Team…plus husbands and wives
(several of who have met and married
at Charlesworths)…and every other
family relationship you can think of.
To all the families within our
Charlesworth Nuts Team who have

Panayiotakopoulos family. Mum and
grandma Teresa was the heart and
soul of our Chocolate Department
for 30 years, much of that time as
contributed so much for so long…thank
you from the bottom of our hearts for
your talent, hard work, high standards
and most importantly your friendship.
You help to make us a family company
in every sense of the word and bring
our family values to life every day.
And the last and equally important
link in the family story is you and your
families. So many of you have been
2 and 3 generation Customers of
Charlesworth Nuts as well and we are
forever grateful for that.
Our families can’t do what they do
without your families. Thank you.
And once again for the 92nd time...at
this very special and magical time of
year… we wish you and your family
a very Merry Christmas and a joyous
